Mentone Girls' SC Year 7 and 8 Netball teams won their Regional round robins on August 5th. Both B teams won their round robin however there was not a State round robin for them, congratulations to those students. The Year 7 and 8 A teams went on and competed at the State round robins on August 31st, after a few close matches and a score change after the game both of the teams did not make it to the final. Well done to make it to the States, this is an incredible achievement. A big thank you to Mrs Mathews and Ms O'Hara, plus the student coaches - Tamika Sheehan, Emma Nicholson, Zoe Karamountzos, Emma Hawkless, Neave Harrison and Sam Gordon - for all their help in training the girls on countless lunchtimes.

Mentone Girls’ SC champion runner Millie Belleville competed in the Australian Cross Country Championships on Saturday 29th August at Moonee Valley Racecourse. Millie has proven to be an exceptional runner coming 6th in Victoria earlier in the year and finishing 33rd in this Australian Championships. She yet again participates in the Under 14 event as a 12 year old, MGSC looks forward to seeing Millie improve over the next year and continuing to show her enthusiasm for the sport. Congratulations Millie.

The Regional round robins for A and B competitions were held on August 6th. Coaches Ms Smith and Ms Parker took their Intermediate A team and Senior B team to compete in their respective round robins. Ms Smith's Senior B team won the B group round robin and interestingly the team was made up of all Year 11's which shows some good signs for next year. Ms Parker's Intermediate A team unfortunately did not make it through to the States but still enjoyed the competition. Congratulations to all netballers, coaches and student coaches.
